Employment Guarantee Scheme:
Employment Guarantee Scheme (E.G.S.) is the scheme of Government of Maharashtra. The purpose of the scheme is to provide guaranteed employment to unemployed people of the rural area. The works involves manual labour in government projects. The areas covered under this scheme are villages and Municipal Corporations (Grade C). Under this scheme, works included are those works approved by the government and which spend 60% of total cost of the work on unskilled work and 40% on skilled work.
The work done under this scheme is divided into the following categories
1. Irrigation
2. Public Works
3. Agriculture
4. Afforestation
5. Others
6. Water Conservation.
Irrigation and Public Works also divide into
a) State Sectors and
b) Local Sectors,
Agriculture divided into
a) Soil Conservation and
b) Land Development.
Afforestation divided into
a) Social Forest and
b) Social Forestry.
Work Of section, Brief Information, Aims,
- To Provide employment to the labours.
- To Prepare annual plan of E.G.S. and to give guarantee to labours about availability of work as per their demand.
- To Provide employment to the labours in respect of the productive work.
- To monitor the mahatma Jyotiba Phule Jal Bhumi Abhiyan and its proper implementation through implementing agency.
Economic Schemes :
1. Employment guarantee scheme
The annual plan of E.G.S. for the year 2007-08 is of 3720.77 Lakhs. Up to the end of the month Feb 07the expenditure of Rs. 1272.05 Lakhs have been made.
Now Navsanjeevan Yojana plan for five year is of Rs. 45 Crores Up till now water conservation works of Rs. 2.44 Crore has been sanctioned.
Previous year information --- Previous year 385 works were sanctioned and 1546.358 lakh rupees were spent.
Current year information --- Current year since March 2008 up to this 292 works have been sanctioned and 1077.847 lakhs have been expended.
Details of Training arranged if any--- District level and Taluka level workshops of Mahatma Phule Jal Bhumi Sandaran Abhiyan to all 15 talukas in Jalgaon District.
Number of Computer Hardware available in the section / Office . There is one Computer along with printer with Internet Facility available.
Employment Guarantee Scheme plan for the year 2007-2008 prepared an annualing to Rs.372.77 lakhs and submitted to the Divisional Commissioner Nashik vide this office letter dated 30/09/07 for administrative approval

As to provide work in each pockets 1737 works are proposed in 256 pockets which will create 36.904 lakhs mandays
